Manny being Manny

This picture cracks me up on about 50 different levels.

I know he's flaky. I know many think he quit on his team last year. I know he sometimes plays LF much the same way Charlie Brown does. And I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Manny will NEVER, EVER, win a Gold Glove.

Don't care. Like Ciera say's, "Manny makes me laugh". He makes me laugh too princess. The .300 AVG, 35HR, and 135RBI make me smile also.

Most of all, I just love the fact a multi-millionaire athlete acts like he's from Mars. He could be surly like Bonds, a phony like Sosa, a head case like Slappy, or a hermit like McGwire.

Instead, he's just a goofball.

Here's to 2007 being another year of "Manny being Manny".

Ted,
I so agree with that post.I love reading interviews that manny does beause something he has to say is bound to make me laugh!I am not sure that I agree that he quit last year but, only he knows the real answer to that!I dont know what papi would do without him hitting in front of him either:)

By the way that picture made my night:) along with the picture of Gabe's biceps that someone posted ovr on SG!

Kaylee,

I will not ever accuse Manny of quitting last year: until I hear a doctor say he could have gone, I'll take his word for it. Your point about Papi is right on, and I think it's why they will not ever trade Manny until they can find someone who can do what he does. (Good luck with that.)

Papi, Manny, and Drew is the most potent 3-4-5 combination in the league. And if Manny were not protecting Papi, they walk the big man every time.

Besides, if Manny leaves, the at LEAST 5 out loud moments a game I get with him leave also!

KAYLEE said...

I hope they never trade him.......players that have his kind of numbers are hard to come by:)

From your lips to God's ears Kaylee.

Ted , would you pass me the red thread please. And a needle. Oh sorry. For argument sake, I lean toward Beltran, Wright, Delgado.

KAYLEE said...

They are good But,I like having manny and papi:)Ted by the way thanks for the link:)

Ted D said...

Jeez Bub, can you be more of a bandwagon jumper? :)

As usual, your stream of conciousness has me lost: what red thread are you talking about?

Talk sense Son!

Just come on over to RSN: the water is fine, and you'll have plenty of folks to help you through the rough water.

::tips cap to Kaylee. You are welcome. Back atcha::

The typo police here: LF, surely?:)

I'm right with you on Manny, even though it pissed me off that he sat the games I went to in Baltimore last season.

I've said it elsewhere but it bears repeating: I'd much rather have Manny inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in.

HorshamScouse said...

Ted, meant to add that it's great to hear Little Trot's getting back to normal.

Ted D said...

John, Thanks for the heads up. Yep, LF for sure: that is what happens with 3 little ones in the house and you can't post your blog until 10:30 @ night! Thanks for your comments on Trot, and hope New Zealand is treating you well.

Just got done watching "The Departed" tonight. GREAT movie, but if you are female, trust me on this, you will hate it. My wife was TICKED. If you are a guy, it's an awesome movie. Scorsese at his best.

And Jack Nicholson is the coolest 70 year old EVER. I'm just sayin'.

KAYLEE said...

Yeah I hear that from eveybody I told my mom I wanted to see it and then the next day she saw it and told me not to even bother. You see I like all the rated R movies. All the ones people my age shouldnt see!I want to see BORAT too:)

KAYLEE said...

You see us teenagers think we are older than we are and wnat to act like grownups and act like we know everything!

Ted D said...

Kaylee,

I'm 36 and that movie was rough for me. Listen to your Mom: just wait a few years. Angie HATED it. Very rough language, TONS of violence, but I loved it.

Can't go wrong with Scorsese and mafia movies.

KAYLEE said...

Those are the kind of movies I get a kick out of though!

::Hides back in my shell::

Ted D said...

Kaylee,

I have an 8 year old daughter: if she saw this movie 7 years from now, I'd freak. You will grow up soon enough. Just let this one pass OK?

Looking forward to Sunday: Sox are on NESN Sunday and Monday night.

Monday is against the MFY so I need to get me a bottle of Maylox before then, but still, it's Sox baseball.

KAYLEE said...

Okay fine.I am sure I can find other violent movies out there oh god the MFY I got to brace myself for that one.At least I got rid of my YANKEES BOYFRIEND(drugs, yankees and acohol are not my thing).I now have a sox fan for a boyfriend!

Tex said...

ok can't believe I am saying this but Kaylee listen to Ted :)
Seriously listen to your mom. She knows what is best for you...she REALLY does. My son tells me often he wishes he would have listened to me more when he was your age and he's 29 tomorrow.

Nothing like Tex making fun of me to kick off Saturday morining! Good morning Tex, and I hope you are feeling a lot better.

Working on a new post, but most likely will be later today or tonight. Gonna take the kids out to play, then Ciera to the library and then to a birthday party, then whatever else Angie comes up with!

Tex said...

thats right Ted cos you know to do what your'e told. :)

psst can you tell Im feeling better?? I think I'll be writing a new one later today too.

Ted D said...

Tex,

I prefer to think of it as being a good husband! :)

Glad you are feeling better.

KAYLEE said...

Yes TED,
MIrabelli hit a double yesterday!I was surprised to to see it

Tex said...

ok ok I give. Ted i mess with ya cos its so easy but you definitely sound like you are a good hubby.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Ok, I can't take it any more. Ted is whipped Double p double d whipped! That and a little controling. Watches the washing machine to make sure it goes thru all its spin cycles. But all that aside he is a good dad .Back to baseball, is it ST or the be all to end all.Cause I see the Sox setting at 5-5 or 6-5 , so is it a concern or just ST. I really enjoy torking you up a little bit.

Tex said...

Scott I think you know Ted better than me and I EVEN know it dont take much to "tork" him up.
ignore ST stats except for Mr Rogers.

Tex said...

btw Ted. Lookie what I did for the order of my links...see if you can figure it out

Ted D said...

Scotty, thanks for the back handed compliment! Bub, all the starters are on the golf course by the 5th or 6th inning, so you can't really look at records. C'mon now.

Tex, expect an email on the links deal: do you REALLY expect me to figure it out? :)

And Tex, don't let Scotty's big talk fool you: his wife leads him around by the nose just like the rest of us!

KAYLEE said...

I not liking Becketts pitching line so far!

KAYLEE said...

Well hopefully Becketts pitching line today is an example of how you dont pitch in the REGULAR SEASON 5 runs 2 earned in 3 2/3 innings

KAYLEE said...

oh and he hit Ordonez in the Head that aint good and also hit Gary Sheffeild!

KAYLEE said...

This game is exciting(okay for everybody except leyland and jones who are sitting in the clubhouse) man 4th
inning and LEYLAND and TODD jones have already been ejected!

Ted D said...

The 3 unearned runs: who made the error/errors? He hit Scheff huh?

I read that Scheffield wanted to sign with Boston in the offseason if the Yankees did not pick up his option. They knew that, and that's why they picked it up and traded him.
